You can't actually tell, but I am buried under that pile of Winnie the Pooh's...

Welcome to my collection! I thought it was about tine that I documented my obsession small collection of yellow bears... I love them all. My sister decided that she wanted to bury me under them to try and cheer me up... I agreed, of course.

I had great fun making this page, The little 'Pooh' tags actually came from a sticker sheet specifically for Winnie the Pooh. Using it felt so good! My other embellishments were kept quite simple: both the picture and background were quite bold, so I kept it simply to some paper layering and gems. I created a border down the right hand side of the page by centring some yellow circle stickers into the white circles. It helps to add another pop of colour.

I think its good to document things you love.

A Birthday Card

 

 

I love Winnie the Pooh. Always have, and probably, always will. I made this for my friend's birthday and when asked by my mother 'Are you sure she likes Winnie the Pooh', I answered pointedly, 'if she doesn't, she should have latched on by now that I do.'

 

Plus... HOW CUTE IS IT?!?!

 

Equipment:

A stamp ( I've had this one for years, and am seriously in love with it)

White Card

Coloured card scrap

Brown ink pad

Colouring Pencils

Foam Pads

Gingham Ribbon

Glue

 

1) Ink up the stamp and print a clear image onto a sheet of white card. Trim the image and round the corners.

2) Highlight areas with colouring pencils, such as Pooh, or Piglet, or Christopher Robin's shirt.

3) Cut a rectangle slightly larger than the image and round corners also.

4) Layer the two pieces of card using foam pads, slightly off centre

5) Fold an A5 white card blank, and hold horizontally. Glue the gingham ribbon a third in from the right hand side

6) Attach the stamped image and smile.

 

All together now 'awwwwwww!'

Why don't people send me nice birthday cards like this? I usually get ones with shoes and handbags on them. I am not impressed.

DIY: Winnie-the-Pooh Card

This is the card I made for my correspondence with a friend in Yorkshire. This technique does not specifically require to be Winnie-the-Pooh; any stamp could apply.

 

Equipment:

Stamp and ink pad of your choice

Silver line stickers

Base Card

Complimentary/tonal card scraps

 

1) Fold an A5 piece of card into a blank. Turn this horizontally.

 

2) With your card scraps, stamp your chosen design, and cut out.

 

3) Matt the design with a second piece of card. Attach this to a Larger piece of card, an inch wider than the design, making sure to line it up with the right hand side.

 

4) With silver lines, mark out first the centre, then one inch to the left. With a third line, border the large matt card on the left hand side.

 

5) Position the layered piece so that the border line lines up between the middle of the two others on the card blank.

 

Tada! It's simple, it's quick, and it's effective. Not bad for some card, a stamp and some stickers...



Craft Review: Weeks 29 & 30: Sunday 8th July - Saturday 21st July

Well, the last two weeks have been a bit hectic.... But don't worry! I have a planned tutorial coming up, and I plan to start my Christmas cards, and making things for a Christmas fair... So, it should all be good!

But, here's what I've been up to over the last two weeks...

I made a simple envelope red cushion cover, I'm just adding the finishing touches now...

I made a card for corresponding with my friend up in Yorkshire... I far prefer sending post as opposed to sending e-mails... as it generally means that they have to reply using post as well. Which is good, as I like getting mail. Plus,this is actually a stamp that she gave me for my birthday,so I thought it would be a good idea to send her one of its products...

This is a very bad photo of another square for my Harry Potter blanket. It's the Sorting hat, or supposedly. It's a very dark brown, so it doesn't show up very well.... I hope to get some more squares done at some point...

Here is a ruffle flower brooch in teal... I found some glittery net, which I'd forgotten about, and I thought this was the perfect project.... a little bit of prettiness

I then started to make a Weasley jumper Decoration for my Mum..... I just need to sew on the other sleeve, and a loop to hang it from....This is hopefully for the beginning of advent, as a pre-Christmas present. I also plan to do one for my sister... Hers will be in a horrid shade of fuchsia pink...

Then over the last week, I had lots of fun painting my room... It's ok, but I thought it would be paler... But it's ok... Photos to follow at a later date when I have sorted out the carnage left behind...

And then, on Saturday, I took the train dressed as a Hermione Granger look-alike for the launch of the summer reading challenge at the library where I volunteer.

Always fun to watch the confused faces of other passengers..
